The sensational Jorge Caballero is considered one of the most important guitarists in history. Now, the Peruvian born guitarist, composer and teacher brings his astonishing talents to the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival with a live-streamed and in-person concert in the Deer Lake Gallery. Reviewers praise Jorge’s musicality, as well as his technical mastery. Beyond the standard guitar repertoire, Jorge is famous for adapting and performing difficult masterworks originally written for piano or orchestra, including Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Dvorak’s New World Symphony. He has been described as “standing on top of the repertoire’s Mount Everest,” while the New York Times called him “a masterly guitarist”.  Also performing, VCGFest favorites, Luis Medina and Alec Pearson will bring back their popular duo.
