Alec Pearson (VAM faculty) and his student Victoria will give a concert at the Vancouver Academy of Music’s Mary Olson Hall. The event will be in honour of Victoria’s effort to attend VAM’s “Young Artist Collegiate Program”. This event is free to attend. We are hoping you will consider giving a donation in place of a concert ticket. Funds raised will go to help offset Victoria’s tuition costs for the program. Donation info to come soon!
Victoria is an ambitious young student who is active in performing in the metro Vancouver area. You will recognize her from performances at VCGS socials, open stages, Kiwanis competitions and student recitals at VAM.
Alec Pearson enjoys a career based in Vancouver where he currently serves as sessional instructor of guitar at the University of British Columbia and is faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Alec has performed both solo and in ensemble across Canada, Spain, Colombia, Greece and the U.S. He currently serves as president of the “Vancouver Classic Guitar Society” where he works to organize many concerts, lectures, masterclasses and social events. Outside of Vancouver, Alec is the director of the annual “Okanagan Guitar Festival” which takes place in the beautiful Okanagan Valley every summer.
