An internationally acclaimed artist

Artyom is a regular guest on some of the world’s most prestigious stages including Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie. He was featured in the televised world premiere of Stephen Goss’s Guitar Concerto, based on Paganini’s Grand Sonata for Guitar and Violin, performed with Mikhail Pletnev and the Russian National Orchestra, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers. As an artist who has mastered the entire standard orchestral, chamber, and solo guitar repertoire, he is also committed to pushing the boundaries of classical guitar music through collaborations with leading composers, commissioning and performing groundbreaking new works.  

A career of firsts

Artyom’s journey with the guitar began as a 6-year old, who was originally told he had no talent.  He went on to win 16 firsts in international competitions opening the door to a  prolific international career and a series of high-profile recording projects.

In 2008, Artyom  released a bestselling chamber music album of new works by Russian composers on the Naxos label. The following year, he recorded an album featuring the music of Cuban guitar legend Leo Brouwer. His most recent release, Ghosts & Shadows (Melodia Records, 2015), a survey of 500 years of Spanish music, was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) in the Best Solo Performance category.

Beyond his accomplishments on stage, Artyom is a tireless advocate for the classical guitar and its future.   He is not only an in incredible performer but also a visionary leader in the classical guitar community. He founded the Moscow Chamber Guitar Music Festival, “Golden Fingerboards,” and co-founded the prestigious Guitar Virtuosi Moscow International Festival, where he serves as Artistic Director.
